Public Speaking in Edinburgh

Do you want to improve your public speaking skills?

Do you want to improve your leadership skills?

Do you want to become more confident?

Develop these skills in a supportive, friendly environment at Waverley Communicators, a club belonging to the world’s most successful non profit public speaking and leadership training organisation: Toastmasters International.

When? Alternate Thursdays from 7pm – 9pm

Where? Temporary we meet online on Zoom but after lockdown is lifted we will be meeting at:

British Study Centre – Edinburgh, 62-66 George Street, Edinburgh EH2 2LR

Ralph C Smedley who founded  Toastmasters International in 1924, said

“we learn better through enjoyment”

That’s what we aim to do at Waverley Communicators – our meetings are professional, well run, educational and fun.

Don’t worry! As a guest, you will not be expected to deliver a speech.

Instead, you can just sit back and enjoy the evening. You will:

  • Hear short, interesting speeches on a wide range of topics.
  • Learn from the valuable feedback given to each speaker by a fellow member.
  • Observe how members rise to the challenge of thinking on their feet.

And if that’s not enough, you will have an opportunity to speak to members and ask questions over tea/coffee and sweet things (usually home-baked) at the break.

Previous guests have said:

“very interesting and relaxed way to learn public speaking”

“professional, friendly and impressive”

“members are very welcome and there’s even tea and biscuits!”

Our meetings are organised and productive and we don’t take ourselves too seriously.

We look forward to meeting you at our next meeting.
